overrun with  monkeys, a man appeared and announced to the
villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.  The
villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out
8 D7 V8 g+ `8 ^: T& A2 sto the forest, and started catching them. The man
bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish,
; E" _1 x1 C& w4 j$ lthey became harder to catch, so the villagers stopped

% v8 @) }) G2 Mannounced that he would now pay $20 for each  one. This renewed
1 O- t6 o( M0 B- m! D! Tthe efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys
  V& f; o1 z# [* }again.   But soon the supply diminished even further and
2 _4 ]( m+ q& c' cthey were ever harder to catch, so people started going back to
their farms and forgot about monkey catching. The man increased his
price to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so
sparse that it was an effort to even see a monkey, much
! p" R* r1 x/ ]# M2 ^4 f! @( Xless catch one.
* B9 [, ^/ X" O6 X/ o

+ F- E2 r; M) p$ e$ f8 e9 F! A4 Q

4 B+ `, V6 x( `announced that he would buy monkeys for $50! However, since he had to
/ A, A' C* J- |* Tgo to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his
behalf.

! J7 k1 K+ V& U: o% ywas away the assistant told the villagers. 'Look at all these monkeys
in the big cage that the man  has bought. I will sell them to
you at $35 each and when the man returns from the city, you can sell
" I2 C9 _2 q" B/ Q0 G% Y3 Cthem to him for $50 each.'

The villagers
rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys. They never
; B& O+ g4 V0 s  x) |. _+ Rsaw the man nor his assistant again and once again there were monkeys
everywhere.
