英语写作中级提高技巧：给参加与不参加我口语培训的朋友们的礼物之冗长词变短

6 m0 y- f8 C  ?8 H5 d& @上次谈到简洁句子和改进写法，有不少同学来信电话说对此很感兴趣，对我也是个小小的鼓励，所以我在这里找一些总结性的词组出来，希望大家在写作和口语练习时，注意尽量避免并且改进。记住，改进方法适用于科技文，学术类写作，如果是口语型的小短信，也是可以用到左边比较常用的句型的，但尽量不要用得太多太滥。

I remember you said "because" is colloquial word and don't often use it in the dissertation.
I don't understand why now you say that we should replace the left with the right as much as possible. But "because" is on the right.

相对于左边来说，右边的是最好的替代。because在学术论文写作中是不应该多出现的东东，但对于书信文件，because是可以用的。另外，我在此篇里说到的东西，只限于代替冗长的写法，适用于书信与普通应用文写作。你看看那个due to the fact that，是我们国人写作时比较容易犯的冗长的毛病，写一般书信应用文，当然应该用because来代替为佳了。但如果是学术写作或者论文，那连写because时都应该尽量想想是不是能用其它来代替。

/ D3 l6 h' D, I3 p: z0 o+ \我会专门写一个代替because呀，although之类的词的文章。不过需要一些时间来找那些有用的句子以拓宽大家的思路。because不是不能用，但是得适当，而且得小心用，毕竟写法多变，句子结构丰富，才会让文章有所谓的英语文采。试想，一篇几百字的说理论文，太多because引导从句，高分是比较难拿到的。可是如果是一个长的文章，必要时用到because，也不会因为这个becasue而失去文采。但是如果你写一封信之类，解释个原因之类的应用文，那because也是可以照常用的，但如果用到了due to the fact that则是有点拼字数的感觉。
