1. pudding is the dessert after the main course/meal. Meat(such as steak)  is the main course/meal.
+ ]$ i! `$ U% \( @So, if you don't eat your main meal(chunky, difficult to digest)  first,  the waiter/waitress won't serve you the dessert.
% Q# H% N0 s: D5 U/ V+ K/ lthe lyrics MIGHT mean that if you(as students don't study hard), you won't get anything sweet from the life.

2. The lyrics is typical black English: double negative = negative (NOT positive). eg.. we don't need no education = we don't need education.

3. I did not spend time in research the background of this song,which could be interesting.

9 m  o! Z' i; \5 f4 P! D4. on surface,  the song is a defense for those drop-out kids. The society as a whole need lawyers and doctors,  as well as  ditch diggers.
